Kazakh athletes have secured 586 medals in the
international arena since the start of this year, including the recent
memorable victories at the 2023
Men’s World Boxing Championship in Tashkent, where the national
team won four gold and one silver medals, taking the secondplace in the team
ranking. Kazakh fencer Ruslan Kurbanov etched his name in history at the 2023
World Fencing Championships in Milan,
Italy, having reached the champion’s podium. Kazakh karate athletes have also conquered
the sports Olympus, having become the best at the 2023 Asian Karate Championship
in the team standings. Shooters also won the first place in the medal standings
of the ranking Shooting World Cup 2023.
“In particular, Kazakh athletes have won 373 awards
in Olympic sports. Our athletes secured 121 gold, 111 silver and 141 bronze medals. In non-Olympic sports, they won 118 medals, including 53 gold, 38 silver and 27 bronze medals. Kazakh para-athletes have secured 95 awards, including 33 gold, 33 silver and 27 bronze medals at Paralympic disciplines,” said Mukhamedzhan Beknazarov, spokesperson for
the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Sports.
