Kazakhstan, China implementing 45 joint projects

Kazakhstan and China are implementing 45 joint projects valued at over $14.5 billion of investment. In the first two months of this year, the volume of container traffic between the countries has nearly tripled. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov discussed the prospects for increasing trade and economic cooperation with Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao. In particular, the parties touched upon the implementation of agreements reached between the Presidents of the two states, encompassing further investment, transit and transport cooperation, as well as cultural and interregional interaction. Emphasis was also placed on enhancing partnerships in education, science, and technology transfer. Bektenov noted that trade and economic cooperation between the nations is on the rise, citing the presence of 3,000 joint ventures operating in Kazakhstan as a testament to this growth. In turn, the ambassador affirmed the high dynamics of development of the countries’ strategic partnership.

“Our relations are developing upward in all directions. The President’s two visits to China gave a powerful impetus to the deepening and development of our bilateral relations. We highly appreciate the program of large-scale economic reforms recently announced by the President, aimed at doubling Kazakhstan’s GDP growth by 2029. We believe that this ambitious task is quite achievable,” Zhang Xiao said.
