Kazakhstan plans to implement investment projects for the production of meat and dairy products worth 38 billion tenge (US$84.6 million). New production facilities will be located in 13 regions of the country. These measures will reduce the share of imports, said the country’s Agriculture Minister Yerbol Karashukeyev. In addition, the country will also grow more of its own apples. Fruit orchards will be planted on 8,000 hectares, Karashukeyev added.
“In 2022, it is planned to implement 33 investment projects, including seven meat processing plants, 10 dairy processing plants, as well as 10 projects for the construction and expansion of poultry farms. The largest ones are two projects for the production of dairy products in Almaty and Karagandy regions for a total of seven billion tenge (US$15.6 million),” said Yerbol Karashukeyev, Kazakh Minister of Agriculture.
