Kazakh State Counsellor Erlan Karin summarized the results
of the work of the National Kurultai (Congress) for 2024 during a working
meeting with its members. Karin noted that on-site working meetings had been
held with the public in a number of regions. Following the Third Session, a
40-point plan was adopted, with a significant portion of the initiatives
already implemented. In particular, a law ensuring women’s rights and
children’s safety was passed by Parliament and signed by the President, as well
as a law to combat drug trafficking. These laws were developed with the active
participation of Kurultai members. Additionally, projects in science,
education, culture, and onomastics have been implemented as part of promoting
national values.
«Another important initiative deserves attention. We have
high state awards, such as «Kurmet», «Parasat» and «Barys». However, there were
no awards named after prominent figures. This issue was also raised and
discussed in the Parliament, and following the Kurultai in April, an important
law was passed. As a result, the three degrees of the Aibyn Order were named
after three World War II heroes: Sagadat Nurmagambetov, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly,
and Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev,» Karin said.
The State Counsellor also informed about the results of
implementing four major infrastructure initiatives of the Head of State,
announced in Atyrau. Summing up, Karin noted that the National Kurultai is an
effective dialogue platform and one of the key centres for shaping the public
agenda.
