More than 20,000 Kazakh families receive state support after floods

Over 20,000 Kazakh families affected by the flooding received state support. Around 7.5 billion tenge was allocated to provide one-time payments, according to the Kazakh government’s press service. On the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the work on damage compensation is currently carried out and is under strict control of the government. Thus, 130 families have received houses and apartments to replace destroyed housing. Construction of 239 new houses is underway in four regions, including in the Aktobe, Kostanai, Pavlodar, and North Kazakhstan regions. Compensation totaling more than 710 million tenge was also provided for housing repair and restoration. Almost 10,000 houses have been surveyed in the affected regions, with assessments already completed for 7,500 of them.
