A meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of State chaired by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was held in a narrow format. It was attended by the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed the leaders about the key outcomes of the work performed by Kazakhstan over the year. A number of important initiatives were implemented thanks to joint efforts.
“President of Turkmenistan is participating in the meeting as a member of the Council for the first time today. Dear Serdar Berdymukhamedov, on behalf of my counterparts and on my own behalf, I would like to welcome you and wish you every success in state activities you are responsible for. This meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council is declared open. Today, the meeting agenda includes important issues related to humanitarian partnership, security and other aspects of our cooperation,” President Tokayev said.
