Members of the Mazhilis, a Lower House of the Kazakh
Parliament, visited the Ulytau region, engaging in discussions with local
representatives about the reforms initiated by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev. According to Mazhilis Speaker Yerlan Koshanov, 2023 has become a
landmark year for the country, symbolizing sustained modernization and the
inception of a new economic policy. MPs elaborated on Kazakhstan’s achievements
and outlined plans for the future. Thus, despite the challenging global
situation last year, the country’s economy grew by five percent, witnessing
significant foreign investments attracted. Development of the regions remains a
priority for this year, as was in 2023. In particular, the construction of
housing and social facilities will continue in the Ulytau region. MPs will
monitor the process and assist in project implementation.
