On the instructions of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Maulen Ashimbayev paid respect to Queen Elizabeth II, visiting her coffin lying-in-state at London’s Westminster Hall and signing the official condolence book on behalf of Kazakhstan. The Senate Speaker also attended a funeral reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by King Charles III for the heads of states, governments, international organizations and members of the royal families of Europe, the Middle East and Asia. During a conversation with the British monarch, Ashimbayev said that one of the squares in the Kazakh capital will be named after Queen Elizabeth II. King Charles III expressed his gratitude for such a kind attitude and attention to the late Queen, conveying his best wishes and gratitude to the leadership and people of Kazakhstan.
