The situation is under
control: all reservoirs in Kazakhstan operate according to approved schedules,
with the water level monitored around the clock. As reported by the relevant
ministry, water continues to be discharged from the reservoirs to maintain free
capacity. Experts say this will ensure its safe flow. In addition, in
preparation for spring floods, hydraulic structures are being rebuilt. In 2024,
74 such facilities were repaired in the country. A large amount of work is also
planned for this year.
«In 16 regions, 384 dams have been repaired
and constructed, covering a total length of 584 kilometers. In collaboration
with local regional administrations, 57 projects are underway to build,
reconstruct, and restore protective dams and hydraulic structures in 84
settlements across six regions. These efforts aim to enhance safety of 359,000
people. In 2024, a comprehensive survey was conducted at 84 water management
facilities in 14 regions. Currently, plans are in place to conduct
multifactorial surveys at 105 hydraulic structures,» said Ansagan Yermek,
expert of the public relations department at the Kazakh Ministry of Water
Resources and Irrigation.
