Kazakhstan and the
United Arab Emirates (UAE) are expanding cooperation in the technology sector.
One of the key agreements between the parties was the construction of Central
Asia’s first supercomputer cluster in Kazakhstan. Built on NVIDIA chip
architecture, the project will not only develop Kazakhstan’s digital industry but
also train IT specialists.
«This supercomputer
will help train artificial intelligence (AI) models and can be useful for AI-based
or AI-related startups. It can also be used by universities to conduct their
research and government agencies that launch their AI agents, which are now
popular,» said Kazakh Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace
Industry Zhaslan Madiyev.
A data processing
center will be established in Kazakhstan to service the digital infrastructure
of the Smart City project in Astana, which is being carried out with companies
from the UAE.
«The Smart City
project involves the creation of a digital twin of the city and incident
management. That is, all regulations for the operation of city services will be
transferred to a digital platform to speed up coordination for more efficient
urban management,» noted Maxat Koshumbayev, Director of the Kazakhstan Office
of Presight AI.
