This year, Kazakhstan plans to launch 190
industrial projects worth $3 billion, setting a record for the past five years.
New manufacturing facilities are expected to appear in the construction,
chemical, machine engineering, and metallurgy sectors. Nine major projects will
be implemented in the latter three areas over the next decade. Once they reach
full capacity, the production output will approach $7.3 billion. Notably, two
of these projects will start this year, including a car manufacturing plant in
Kostanai with an annual output of 70,000 vehicles, and a multi-brand car
factory in Almaty, producing 90,000 cars per year. For the first time in five
years, Kazakhstan’s manufacturing sector has grown by 5.9%, with the total
production volume reaching 24.5 trillion tenge.
«Several projects are planned for
single-industry towns, which, upon reaching full design capacity, are expected
to generate an economic impact of over 2.2 trillion tenge. Last year, a plant
for manufacturing brake pads and springs for railway trains was launched in the
Kostanai region in collaboration with foreign partners. Its products are now
supplied to various Eurasian markets, including Slovakia, Türkiye, Germany, and
Romania. This suggests that these products are highly sought after and widely
used in international markets,» said Dauren Baiduissenov, Managing Director of
the QazIndustry Center for Industry and Export.
