Kazakhstan to increase oil exports

Kazakhstan exported more than 750 million tonnes of oil to world markets only through one oil pipeline in 20 years. This was announced by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a meeting dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. He noted that the capacity of the network reached 67 million tonnes per year. This figure is planned to be increased up to 80 million tonnes in 2023. The megaproject contributed to the development of the largest fields in the world – Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan. Today they account for 60 percent of all oil production in the country. The Head of State highlighted that the oil and gas sector is one of the key sectors that determine the growth of Kazakhstan’s economy.
