Starting in 2025, the issuance, accounting
and maintenance of personal medical books in Kazakhstan will be carried out in electronic
format. This measure will allow citizens to provide the same document to
multiple institutions simultaneously, significantly simplifying the process and
saving both time and money. To date, around 1.6 million Kazakh citizens have sanitary
books. According to the country’s Health Ministry, the transfer to an
electronic format will also affect the issuance of other medical documents,
including sick leave certificates, sanatorium-resort cards, and children’s
health passports. Documents will be transferred to third parties only with the
consent of citizens using the eGov mobile application. Users will be able to
access their medical data in the eDensaulyq section. Additionally, parents will
be able to remotely register informed consent or refusal to vaccinate their
children.
