In 2023, more than half of
Kazakhstan's stone quarries were digitized in eight regions. Specialists from
the Kazakhstan Highway Research Institute conducted the work on selection and analysis
of materials to verify their properties and quality. All data collected was
recorded in a unified database of new technologies and road construction
materials. It contains precise geographical data, physical and mechanical
characteristics of extracted raw materials, application areas, as well as
information about owners, including contacts, quarry volumes, and capacities. The
plan for the current year involves selecting and testing materials in nine
additional regions of Kazakhstan.
“The Institute plans to digitize
all aspects of the road industry, including asphalt and concrete plants. It has
also undertaken various initiatives to implement new digital systems for
streets and road networks, passportization, diagnostics, and programs for
researching bridges and other artificial structures,” said Meiramgul
Kabdygaliyeva, spokesperson for the Kazakhstan Highway Research Institute.
