Kazakhstan to build and repair 11,000 kilometers of roads in 2026

This year, Kazakhstan will launch a unified E-Joldar system. It will consolidate all data on the condition of the country’s roads, repair timelines, and road passports. In addition, the information system will ensure transparency and public oversight. Overall, in 2026 the country plans to build and repair more than 11,000 kilometers of roads. According to the Ministry of Transport, the work will cover both national highways and the regional road network. Among the priority areas, the ministry highlights the Center–West project, Karagandy–Zhezkazgan and Kyzylorda–Zhezkazgan routes, as well as other major highways. Special attention will be given to the construction of bypasses around major cities, including Kyzylorda, Petropavl, and Rudny, as well as to improving tourist routes. A large-scale reconstruction of 33 border crossing points will also begin. It is planned that by 2030, their throughput capacity will increase to 35 million tonnes.

«To date, all necessary measures have been taken, the planned feasibility studies have been obtained, and the work is proceeding as scheduled. All required financial resources have been provided for. Large-scale work is planned and will be carried out in full. All tasks and objectives set by the Head of State will be fully implemented within the established timeframes,» noted Kazakh Vice Minister of Transport Maksat Kaliakparov.
