Kazakh citizens affected by the
floods will have their targeted social assistance and disability terms
automatically extended. First-time applicants for assistance will be able to
submit their applications through the e-government portal. According to the Kazakh
Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, people with
disabilities will also have their terms of disability and individual
rehabilitation programs automatically extended until the end of the state of
emergency. Borrowers participating in the youth microcredit program will be
granted a payment deferral.
“Kazakh citizens employed in
subsidized positions in regions and cities where the state of emergency has
been declared will continue to receive their wages without interruption. During
this emergency period, unemployed citizens in subsidized positions will have
their wages paid by the labor mobility center without the need for additional
documentation,” said Madiyar Uakpayev, the ministry’s official spokesperson.
