Kazakhstan to allocate us$3.76 billion for implementation of project for regional development

Kazakhstan spent 1.4 trillion tenge on the implementation of the national project “Strong regions – driver of the country’s development”. In total, 1.5 trillion tenge was allocated to the program last year, 93 percent of which was already used. This was stated by the Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov at a government meeting. He noted that project is being implemented in two directions - “Equal access to basic services” and “Ensuring transport connectivity”. Four objectives, 20 indicators and 96 measures have been determined as part of them. The national project “Strong regions – driver of the country’s development” was launched in Kazakhstan in order to reduce the difference between the regions.

“The implementation of the national project in 2021 allowed to achieve the following results. The indicator for providing the population with drinking water amounted to 96 percent, deterioration of engineering and transport infrastructure in mono- and small towns decreased from 57.6 to 45.5 percent, 17.1 million square meters of housing were comissioned, the quality of roads was improved. About 112,000 permanent and temporary jobs were created as well,” Kuantyrov noted.

1.8 trillion tenge will be spent on the project’s implementation this year, including 709 billion tenge of extra-budgetary resources. 528 billion tenge have already been utilized.
