The joint project of Kazakhstan and Sweden was presented in Astana. The unique photo exhibition entitled ‘Parenting - an Equal Opportunity’ includes 40 works by photographers from the two countries, who managed to capture families in happy and also challenging moments of their life. The project aims to explore the topic of engaged parenting and joint partnership of spouses. According to the project organizers, namely the Embassy of Sweden and the United Nations Population Fund, each photograph showcases a unique story of parents. The exhibition will be available to all visitors until November 23.
“At the United Nations, we define the engaged parents as those who get involved in raising their children, and also equally share the childcare and household responsibilities. It’s not only about earning money and buying groceries, but also spending quality time with your family, sharing household chores and helping children with their homework,” UNFPA Spokesperson Zhamilya Kussainova said.
