The mission of Kazakhstan and other member states of the Islamic Organization for Food Security is to assist countries in need through the adoption of important programs to further develop agriculture and address food security issues. These were the topics discussed by the participants of the 5th General Assembly held in Tunisia last week. It bears noting that Kazakhstan is a founding member of the IOFS, which includes 37 states so far. Along with Kazakhstan, they provide support to countries in need in five main areas, including management assistance, food crisis response, capacity building, industrial development and resource mobilization. As experts emphasize, the IOFS is not a humanitarian, but a program organization engaged in infrastructural and agricultural changes in the economies of the member countries that need such support.
