Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received KIA Corporation President Ho-sung Song, who reported on the construction progress of a full-cycle car manufacturing plant in Kostanai. The completion of the facility is planned for 2025. Over 90 billion tenge of investments have been attracted to implement the project. The plant’s design capacity will be 70,000 cars annually, with 50,000 of them produced using a small-unit assembly method, ensuring a higher share of local content. The company is also attracting global automotive component suppliers to the country. An intent agreement for the construction of such a plant in Kazakhstan has already been signed. The Head of State underscored that the automotive industry’s development is one of the key areas of the country's industrial policy, along with the training of domestic specialists for the sector’s advancement.
