In honor of Republic Day, Yeldos Smetov, the Paris Olympics judo champion, and his coach, Galymzhan Zhylgeldiyev, visited the Kobda district in the Aktobe region, where they met with schoolchildren and young people. The goal was to inspire interest in sports among the younger generation and motivate them to achieve new heights. Smetov noted that the country places great emphasis on developing this sphere and has all the opportunities to foster new champions. Notably, the villages of Kobda and Zharyk were affected by spring floods; however, 147 new houses were built for the residents in a short period.
«On the instructions of the Head of State, houses were built, and we had the opportunity to visit them and meet the residents of these villages. The houses were built well. I sincerely congratulate Kazakh citizens on Republic Day. May our blue flag always fly in the clear sky,» Smetov said.
