Kazakhstan reviews measures to evacuate citizens from Middle East

Measures to evacuate Kazakh citizens from the Middle Eastern countries were discussed at a meeting of the operational headquarters at the Ministry of Transport. Notably, several thousand Kazakh citizens are still unable to return home, as airspace over the region is either closed or the situation remains unstable in Iran, Israel, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Iraq, and Lebanon. Kazakh airlines expressed readiness to provide aircraft for return flights once the airspace of these countries reopens. Evacuation efforts are being coordinated by the Ministry of Transport in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry, which ensures round-the-clock communication with state authorities and foreign governments. Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions have been put on high alert, and consular assistance is being provided on-site. The lists of citizens in the region, including transit zones, are being updated, and emergency hotlines have been established. Diplomatic staff, in coordination with tourism companies, are assisting with the accommodation of nationals who are currently staying at airports and in transit areas. No information has been reported regarding casualties among Kazakh citizens.
