Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev and Chairman of the Eastern and Central European and Central Asian
Commission on Drug Policy (ECECACD) Aleksander Kwasniewski discussed issues of
cooperation with a particular focus on exchanging information and experience in
combating the spread of drug addiction and drug trafficking. The Head of State stressed
that Kazakhstan is ready to actively collaborate with the Commission,
highlighting the country’s intention to revise legislation to impose stricter penalties
for those involved in drug production and illegal distribution. On his part,
Aleksander Kwasniewski outlined new programs and measures aimed at enhancing
the effectiveness of anti-drug policies.
