Kazakhstan puts seven deposits into state register

Seven deposits were put into Kazakhstan’s state register for the first time this year. In general, geological exploration of the subsoil is actively carried out at 104 sites in the country, the Kazakh Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources reports. The country hopes to discover new deposits of the rare earth metals. The exploration work conducted over eight months has resulted in the increase in gold reserves to over 45 tonnes, copper - 25,000 tonnes, zinc - 215,000 tonnes, oil - about 15 million tonnes, and gas - 6.8 billion cubic meters. The Ministry also completed its work on the delineation of reserve deposits and identification of ore deposits. Thus, another 661,000 square kilometers of territories were discovered for subsoil use.
