Kazakhstan plans to launch another dry port

Kazakhstan may build a new dry port. Its construction, planned to be carried out in two stages, is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. According to the governor’s office of the Almaty region, the project «International digital transport and logistics hub ‘Dry port Kolzhat’» will be implemented on 8,500 hectares of land. It provides for a full cycle with developed infrastructure. The project includes creating temporary storage warehouses, service centers for transportation, as well as facilities for providing public, brokerage, and other auxiliary services. A center for exporting goods will be established as well. The dry port will contribute to increased freight traffic from China and the modernization of the Kolzhat checkpoint.
