Over the past 18
years, the Investment Committee of the country's Foreign Ministry has attracted
more than two trillion tenge. About 1,500 investment contracts were concluded,
including 125 agreements in the service sector. Investments were made into the
construction of warehouses, educational and healthcare facilities, as well as
passenger transportation services. A total of 216 investment contracts involved
the provision of land grants in-kind, which has led to the creation of over 37,000 new job opportunities,
as announced by Deputy Foreign Minister Almas Aidarov at a meeting of the
Investment Headquarters chaired by Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov. Aidarov highlighted that
state in-kind grants are provided based on a list of priority activities both in the production of goods
and services and are subject to special cases that do not require auctions.
In-kind grants are allocated by local administrations in agreement with
the Land Administration Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture. Smailov instructed responsible state
agencies to update the regulatory legal acts to improve the law enforcement
practice of allocating land grants in-kind.
