The trade turnover
between Kazakhstan and Germany grew by more than 90 percent, reaching nearly 10
billion euros last year. Additionally, there was an upward trend in the export
of domestic goods to Germany as well, with an 86.5 percent increase over the past
year, totaling around seven billion euros, as stated by Volker Treier, the head
of foreign trade at the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), at a
meeting with the First
Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar. Furthermore, these figures are expected
to continue to rise in the near future as the parties are set to step up their
cooperation, including in the areas of energy, industry, transport, and
logistics. According to Volker
Treier, Kazakhstan plays a key role for Germany in the Central Asian region.
