The development of museum affairs and the implementation of new digital solutions in museum practices—these topics brought together foreign and domestic experts from Iran, China, Russia, Türkiye, Hungary, Armenia, Azerbaijan, France, and Central Asian countries at a single platform in Astana, where the Kazakhstan Museum Congress kicked off. Over the course of two days, participants will exchange experiences and engage in scientific discussions, roundtables, seminars, and workshops. The event is also expected to feature the signing of a number of memorandums of cooperation, including with regional states.
«We will develop exhibition projects. I believe that exhibitions can effectively convey much about our country, its history, and the intersections of our cultures. Of course, there should also be research projects, and we have high hopes for our collaborative efforts to study decorative and applied arts, particularly in Central Asia. Scientific research should be at the forefront of all these initiatives,» said Kamola Akilova, Director of the Fine Arts Gallery of Uzbekistan.
The National Museum of Kazakhstan is signing another agreement of understanding with the Embassy of France. With the support of the French diplomatic mission, experts from the Louvre Museum, the National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research, and the Center for National Monuments are participating in the Congress. Additionally, French colleagues will showcase the finest examples of digital art and artistic innovations to residents and visitors of the capital as part of the «Digital Autumn» festival.
«Tomorrow marks the opening of the «Digital Autumn» festival at the museum, offering all Astana residents the opportunity to participate in the event. That is why we are currently organizing regular meetings with our experts, as museum expertise evolves every year, and we must constantly adapt and upgrade our knowledge and experience,» said French Ambassador to Kazakhstan Sylvain Guiaugue.
The countries have big plans for cultural exchange.
For example, this autumn, an exhibition titled «Treasures of Kazakhstan» will
be held in Paris. The National Museum of Asian Arts will present the best
museum exhibits from Kazakhstan, including samples of jewelry art of the Saka
era.
