In the footsteps of the Great Silk Road - the first railway tour of the ancient cities of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will be launched tomorrow. The train will run on the route «Almaty - Turkistan - Tashkent – Almaty». As noted by the relevant ministry, the launch of the route is an essential step in developing tourism and strengthening cultural ties between the two Central Asian countries. For Kazakh and Uzbek citizens, as well as tourists from other countries who want to learn more about the region's rich spiritual and historical heritage and immerse themselves in the authentic atmosphere of the ancient trade route, these trips will now become more comfortable and accessible.
«In four days, as part of the international railway tour, tourists will embark on a journey through ancient cities. The route includes the key attractions in Turkistan and Tashkent. In addition, travelers will visit one of the most ancient cities in Central Asia, Otyrar, which was an important trading link on the Silk Road. The tour program also includes visits to the Arystan-Baba Mausoleum, the Azret Sultan State Historical and Cultural Reserve Museum, and the largest tourist complex of its kind in Central Asia, Caravanserai. In Tashkent, tour participants will explore not only historical sites but also the city's modern development,» noted Meirzhan Auezov, Head of Monitoring and State Control Department, Tourism Industry Committee.
