Kazakhstan Machinery Fair kicks off in Astana

The Kazakhstan Machinery Fair 2026 has kicked off in Astana, bringing together over 250 local and international companies in mechanical engineering and metalworking. Participants are showcasing new technologies, equipment, and collaborative projects. Notably, Kazakhstan’s engineering production grew by 18% last year.

«The country is implementing a comprehensive plan to develop the engineering industry through 2028, providing enterprises with raw materials, financing, and skilled personnel, while also supporting product sales. At the same time, legislative initiatives are being developed with Parliament to ensure the sector’s systematic growthsaid Kazakh Minister of Industry and Construction Yersaiyn Nagaspayev.

The Kazakh automotive industry is boosting localization, with a focus on component production. One domestic manufacturer, with an annual capacity of 127,000 vehicles, has switched to using locally produced tires and batteries. Plans are also underway to start producing car seats, bumpers, and exhaust systems.

«We’ve engaged developers and manufacturers, and it’s always great to work with our local producers and support their growth. These exhibitions say a lot. When investors come from abroad, they see how we operate and develop, and they choose to collaborate with ussaid Lyudmila Volter, representative of a Kazakh automotive company.
