Kazakhstan harvests record grain crop this year

This year’s harvest campaign in Kazakhstan is one of the most bountiful in recent years. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, domestic farmers have already harvested about 21 million tonnes of grain, which is a record figure. Notably, only 83% of the total sown area has been harvested so far. Overall, despite a dry summer in several regions, yields this season are higher than last year’s, experts say. More than 1.4 million tonnes of oilseeds, 2.5 million tonnes of potatoes, and over 3.5 million tonnes of vegetables have been collected. Several factors helped shorten the harvesting time, including the use of modern machinery, digital monitoring systems, and favorable weather conditions, the Ministry noted. Overall, the harvesting campaign is proceeding in an organized and timely manner.
