Kazakhstan expands geography of non-primary exports to 135 countries

Kazakhstan is ready to boost exports of domestic products to $45 billion over the next five years. This year alone, the country is set to increase the volume of supplies of highly processed goods by six percent or more than $37 billion. Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration has already identified key areas. Thus, the export of finished products to China is expected to expand to $12.5 billion in the medium term, representing a 2.5-fold increase. The countries of the CIS, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe are among the priority export areas.

“A comprehensive work will continue to increase trade with the EAEU and Central Asian countries. To this end, the necessary infrastructure for cross-border trade is being developed. Also, plans are being made to boost exports of high-margin goods to the Middle East, including chilled lamb, poultry meat, and by-products. Additionally, a priority is given to the highly competitive European Union markets, which are ready to purchase Kazakh food and organic products,” said Arman Shakkaliyev, Kazakh Minister of Trade and Integration.
