Kazakhstan and Estonia have
agreed to cooperate in combating illegal migration. The Mazhilis, a Lower House
of the Kazakh Parliament, ratified the agreement between the governments of the
two countries on the readmission of persons. The document outlines the
procedures for returning citizens who do not comply with the conditions of stay
in the territories of the respective states. The agreement enables the prompt
identification and return of citizens without imposing penalties or entry
restrictions. Additionally, the authorized agency will provide assistance in
preparing the necessary documents for the return process. The Ministry of
Internal Affairs is designated as the responsible authority from the Kazakh
side, while the Estonian side is represented by the Police and Border Guard
Department.
“The ratification of the
agreement will give a new impetus to strengthening mutual cooperation with
European states. Such agreements will streamline the visa process for our
citizens. The document has been developed taking into account international
experience. The readmission institute works with 18 states. This agreement will
create conditions for countering illegal migration and facilitating the
admission and transit of persons in accordance with international legal norms,”
said Kazakh Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov.
