Kazakhstan establishes visa-free regime with over 80 countries

Kazakhstan is experiencing growth of tourist flow due to international openness, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports reports. The number of Chinese tourists has increased twentyfold since the introduction of visa-free travel between the countries. Indian arrivals have tripled under the 14-day visa-free policy. The regime is now available to citizens of over 80 countries, with electronic tourist visas being valid for guests from 117 states. Also, the open sky aviation policy is implemented in 12 international airports in Kazakhstan to expand flight routes and boost the number of international flights. All these measures contribute to the growth of tourist influx into the country.

“According to official statistics, the number of domestic tourists reached 9.6 million people in 2023. The number of foreign tourists served by accommodation facilities increased by 17 percent or 150,000 people to around 1.1 million. The accommodation facilities provided services worth 229 billion tenge, which is 46 billion more than in 2022,” said Kazakh Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev.
