The Kazakh national traditions
‘Salburyn’ (festival of equestrian hunting) and ‘Betashar’ (wedding ritual) are
under consideration for inclusion in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage
List, as noted by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The Head of State
participated in a ceremony of awarding culture and art workers, emphasizing
that the development of the culture and arts sector is a top priority for the
state. Thus, three leading museums in the country will be granted national
status, and the Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana will be named
after the renowned singer Kulyash Baiseitova. President Tokayev also
highlighted the ongoing measures aimed at renewal of the country’s spiritual
life.
“The country is attaching great
importance to the comprehensive development of infrastructure of this crucial
sector. Over the past three years alone, more than 700 facilities have been
repaired and 160 new ones have been built across the country. The equipment of
cultural and art institutions is gradually improving. For the first time in
three decades, budget funds have been allocated for the purchase of musical
instruments for specialized educational institutions and state concert
organizations,” said Tokayev.
