Kazakhstan is enhancing support for small and
medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The government has adopted a
Comprehensive Program that aims to provide support for effective projects.
Thus, state subsidies are now available for companies in the manufacturing
sector, covering up to half of all projects. Additionally, the amounts of loan
guarantees have been increased, and syndicated loans from multiple banks have
been introduced for large production facilities. New support mechanisms are
also planned for the near future. For example, reduced-interest loans with
longer terms will be available for manufacturers of high-tech finished
products. In total, over the past six months, state support measures in the
form of subsidies and guarantees have covered approximately 14,000 business
projects, amounting to more than 700 billion tenge.
