This year, the Eurasian
Development Bank's investments in Kazakhstan's economy will reach approximately
$1 billion. The pool of priority projects will cover transportation, industry, energy,
agriculture, as well as the construction and modernization of social
infrastructure. Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and EDB’s Chairman
Nikolai Podguzov discussed the joint implementation of infrastructure projects,
emphasizing the importance of attracting investments to fulfill the initiatives
of the Head of State in the development of the road network, housing
construction, and gas infrastructure. It is noteworthy that last year, the EDB
financed a number of major projects in Kazakhstan, including a polypropylene
production plant, the acquisition of mainline locomotives, the construction of
wind power stations in the Kostanai region, and others. The country’s share of
annual investments grew to 59 percent in 2023.
