Every resident and visitor to Kazakhstan can contribute to improving the quality of the country’s tourism services. For this, travelers should leave their suggestions or complaints on a special website Shagym.kz. The digital module can be found in the E-tourism system and is developed to assess the work of industry facilities, travel companies, guides, roadside and other services. All that a tourist needs to do is fill out a questionnaire on the website and attach photographs as evidence. Next the system will process the received data. According to the Kazakh Tourism National Company, every appeal, including comments, reviews and complaints, will be worked out with government bodies, mayoral and governors’ offices and businesses.
“When you log on to Shagym.kz website, you can choose what you want to complain about or leave a suggestion, and, optionally, post the photographic proof. The system automatically categorizes applications. For instance, the website can collect complaints on transport companies of Almaty, Shymkent or others. And consequently, we will be able to hold meetings with the local authorities, for example Shymkent city hall, and request to pay attention to 154 applications concerning a certain road, providing them with the photographic proof. This system will help us argue these issues.” Talgat Amanbayev, Chairperson of the Kazakh Tourism National Company, said.
