The agro-industrial complex in Kazakhstan is set to undergo certain changes. Particularly, starting next year, agricultural producers will be receiving subsidies under the new rules, which were discussed by a specially established working group, the country’s Agriculture Ministry reports. The main changes will concern those areas and types of subsidies that have high corruption risks. In particular, as regards fodder base, it was proposed to subsidize only hay and bran, and only in cases of emergencies or bad weather. They also plan to revise subsidies in poultry farming, construction and crop production. Another novelty is that counter obligations will be introduced for the recipients of state support. In addition, as part of the National Project for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex, the three-year amount of program funding is provided totaling 90 billion tenge.
