Kazakh peacekeepers have
arrived in Lebanon to participate in a UN peacekeeping mission. The new
rotation, comprising 11 personnel from Kazakhstan’s Armed Forces, will serve as
part of the Indian military contingent. In southern Lebanon, they will carry
out tasks aimed at maintaining the ceasefire, including patrolling areas,
escorting convoys, securing facilities, and engaging with local communities and
authorities. Their mission will contribute to maintaining stability in the
region in accordance with the mandate of the UN Security Council. Before
deployment, the peacekeepers underwent comprehensive training in line with
international standards. They studied humanitarian law, enhanced their language
skills, and conducted practical exercises in preparation for modern
peacekeeping operations. This marks the eleventh rotation of Kazakhstan’s
national peacekeeping contingent to Lebanon. Over the years, Kazakh
peacekeepers have earned high praise from the mission’s leadership and
international partners.
