was held in Tianjin, China, with the participation of President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev, who held
talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping after arrival first.
The leaders discussed ways to strengthen trade, economic, investment, cultural
and humanitarian ties. Tokayev highlighted with great appreciation that, with Xi Jinping’s
active support, Kazakh-Chinese relations of eternal comprehensive strategic
partnership are developing at an unprecedentedly high level. Bilateral trade reached a
record $44 billion last year, while major joint projects are being successfully
implemented. Xi Jinping underlined that Beijing
attaches great importance to deepening the Kazakh-Chinese eternal comprehensive partnership.
The meeting was the second between the two leaders in two months, demonstrating
the high level of bilateral relations. China and Kazakhstan are strategic partners bound by mutual understanding
and trust regardless of the international situation. As Xi Jinping emphasized,
the two sides are ready to support each other and expand cooperation.
