Kazakhstan – China: Strategic partnership

A large-scale anniversary summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in Tianjin, China, with the participation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping after arrival first. The leaders discussed ways to strengthen trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties. Tokayev highlighted with great appreciation that, with Xi Jinping’s active support, Kazakh-Chinese relations of eternal comprehensive strategic partnership are developing at an unprecedentedly high level. Bilateral trade reached a record $44 billion last year, while major joint projects are being successfully implemented. Xi Jinping underlined that Beijing attaches great importance to deepening the Kazakh-Chinese eternal comprehensive partnership. The meeting was the second between the two leaders in two months, demonstrating the high level of bilateral relations. China and Kazakhstan are strategic partners bound by mutual understanding and trust regardless of the international situation. As Xi Jinping emphasized, the two sides are ready to support each other and expand cooperation.

Luban workshops open in Kazakhstan

Following the high-level talks, the opening ceremony of Luban workshops took place in Kazakhstan. The project was implemented in line with the Head of States instruction to expand the workshops’ experience in training qualified personnel. The practice-oriented training platforms were launched at the Eurasian National University in Astana and the Academy of Logistics and Transport in Almaty.
