Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are set to develop the transit and transport potential, within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route inclusively, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development reported. Representatives of the departments of the two countries discussed projections for the volume of cargo transportation for this year, throughput capacity for sections of railways and the Caspian Sea, as well as conditions for reorienting additional flows. In particular, Kazakh exporters are ready to send two million tonnes of domestic products through the Trans-Caspian transport corridor. The Kazakh side also proposed to the Azerbaijani colleagues to jointly develop road freight transportation through the international route. Besides, the parties discussed the creation of a joint venture. It will allow solving the issues of tariff formation and cargo declaration, as well as consolidating transit cargo on the route. In addition, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are ready to increase the number of flights between the two countries.
