Kazakhstan among active members of ISO

Kazakhstan is actively involved in the work of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). As noted by ISO Secretary-General Sergio Mujica, the country is one of 172 members. Kazakh experts participate in more than 150 technical committees, which makes it possible to take national priorities into account during the development of standards. In addition, Kazakhstan has become a platform for uniting Central Asian countries in the field of standardization, strengthening regional cooperation and influence within international structures.

«International standards are a universal language, where experts from all around the world agree on technical specifications and technical requirements. Why is this important? Because it opens up the door of the world to the products made here in Kazakhstan. We have around 800 technical committees and some committees, and Kazakhstan participates roughly in 150 of them. This is a large proportion. What is relevant is that the committees where you participate are relevant for your country in terms of your strategy for economic and social development,» noted Sergio Mujica, Secretary-General of the International Organization for Standardization.
