Legendary Kazakh traveler Sarsenbai Kotyrashov is setting off on a
new journey. The 76-year-old adventurer plans to walk across Europe, with his
route passing through Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, and France. Over the
course of two months, he is expected to cover a distance of 2,000 kilometers,
which marks the fourth stage of the long-distance walker’s world marathon.
Previously, he completed extensive treks across Kazakhstan and to Türkiye, Mongolia, and China, promoting a
healthy lifestyle as well as the culture and tourism of his homeland. After
completing his journey, Sarsenbai Kotyrashov will return to Kazakhstan to
prepare for the next stage, scheduled for 2027. While his achievements have
already been recorded in Kazakhstan’s Book of Records, the traveler now aims to
secure a place in the Guinness World Records.
«Next, I’ll travel across the U.S., finishing on the Atlantic coast. Then I’ll continue on foot across Africa and other continents. In total, my journey will span 41,000 kilometers - slightly more than the Earth’s equatorial circumference. I’m not afraid to travel alone. Wherever I go, people welcome me as one of their own,» said traveler Sarsenbai Kotyrashov.
