Kazakhstan will soon be able to detect cardiovascular diseases at an early stage. Scientists at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University have developed the “Zhurek AI” platform, which uses artificial intelligence to quickly identify hidden anomalies and automatically assess an individual’s risk level. The platform is particularly beneficial for residents in remote areas, who only need to upload their blood test results and complete a specially designed questionnaire to receive a risk assessment.
«Thanks to our portal, patients can independently assess their risk of cardiovascular diseases by uploading their data and completing a specialized questionnaire. The system evaluates several medical parameters, including heart rate variability, heartbeat, oxygen levels, and other factors. Based on this information, it can accurately determine the likelihood of developing cardiovascular diseases,» said Assiya Baltabayeva, researcher at the Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things Laboratory, KazNU.
The system then processes
all collected information and provides a prognosis. If a life-threatening risk
is detected, the report will advise the patient to seek immediate medical
attention. According to the scientists, the high accuracy of diagnosis and risk
assessment is achieved through a sophisticated algorithm based on deep neural
networks and the support vector machine method. Following successful testing,
the scientists plan to commercialize the system.
