President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reviewed the progress of the construction of
the new building for the National Scientific Oncology Center. The facility,
whose total area is over 58,000 square meters, will house all the world’s
unique technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors. Besides,
scientists will be able to conduct research, implement scientific and technical
programs, and engage in educational practices. The building is planned to be
commissioned in August, enabling the center to become the national coordinator
in creating an integrated model for providing oncology care.
«I
congratulate everyone on the construction of this unique medical facility.
There are just few such institutions in the world. Certainly, it will be a
flagship of medical practice and science in our region,» said President
Tokayev.
The Head of
State also visited the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine,
which oversees the operations of medical aviation services, ambulances, and emergency
departments. The medical center is equipped with modern facilities, including
mobile computer tomography scanners, and can accommodate over 18,000 patients
annually.
