Kazakh Prime Minister inspects industrial projects in Astana

The volume of industrial production in Astana exceeded 3.4 trillion tenge last year. Today, the majority of the capital’s enterprises are concentrated in Industrial Park No. 1, which includes 137 projects totaling 333 billion tenge. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov inspected the progress of the city’s industrial development. He toured a plant producing fire-fighting and special-purpose vehicles, as well as mounted equipment. The enterprise was commissioned in January 2025.

«The plant’s design capacity is up to 400 units of equipment per year. It currently supplies specialized and municipal vehicles to both government agencies and commercial organizations,» noted Baubek Kazbayev, Director of the enterprise’s commercial department.

Bektenov also inspected the development of the city’s energy infrastructure. CHPP-3, the combined heat and power plant, operates on natural gas and produces 440 Gcal per hour. As part of the second phase, a 500 MW combined -cycle power unit is planned. The plant not only covers Astana’s energy capacity deficit but also provides a reserve of resources to meet the city’s growing demand.
