Today, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev
visited the new building of the Archive of the President of Kazakhstan, which
has relocated from Almaty to Astana. The archive holds materials on the
country’s political history since 1918, covering state formation, domestic and
foreign policy, and reforms. It is the first archive in Central Asia to
function not only as a documentary repository but also an educational and
scientific-methodological center. The specialized facility includes a
laboratory complex, interactive exhibition and reading rooms, and 24 archive
spaces designed for paper, audiovisual, and electronic documentation. Tokayev
also reviewed the reconstruction of the Kazakh National University of Arts. The
renovation expanded the main building by 10,000 square meters to a total of
38,000. The upgraded facilities now include a 1,100-seat concert hall, a
chamber hall for academic music, exhibition galleries for students and guest
artists, and new rehearsal studios.
