Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev visited a number of facilities in the capital. The working trip around
the city began with a visit to the Kazakhstan International School Astana (KIS
Astana). The educational institution is designed for 800 school students and
120 preschool children. The facility spans over 20,000 square meters. The
school, accredited by the International Baccalaureate (IB), features classrooms
equipped with modern technologies, which will help unlock the potential of each
student.
Afterward, President
Tokayev toured the modern sports center QazSwimAcademy. The unique complex
offers a full range of training opportunities for swimmers. Children and adults
have access to five pools of various lengths, equipped with Spanish systems for
automatic water composition analysis and precise reagent dosing. Additionally,
the facility features specialized training equipment. During a conversation
with athletes, the Head of State noted that the government places special
emphasis on the development of sports infrastructure.
President Tokayev also
visited the student dormitory of the Gumilyov Eurasian National University
(ENU). The dormitory consists of three modern blocks, providing comfortable
living and studying conditions for students. The construction also took into
account the needs of students with disabilities. The design and infrastructure fully
comply with the requirements for an accessible environment. The Head of State
gave a positive assessment of the ongoing efforts to open branches of foreign
universities, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in
education and youth exchanges.

The next locations
visited were an electric locomotive manufacturing plant and construction sector
facilities. The first enterprise, launched as part of the industrialization
program by the French company Alstom, is located in Astana’s industrial park No.
1. It produces locomotive bodies, transformers, low-voltage and high-voltage
switchgear, and other components. After familiarizing himself with the products
of domestic railway cluster manufacturers, President Tokayev visited the Asyl
Qala paving slab plant. The company’s products are actively used in the
development of Astana and other cities in Kazakhstan. Next, the Head of State
toured a plant producing autoclaved aerated concrete blocks, which has the
capacity to produce 150,000 square metres of products annually. President
Tokayev called the construction industry an important sector of the economy and
emphasized the need to increase local production.
