Kazakh President receives OSCE Secretary General

Today, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu. The Head of State thanked him for his active participation in the Regional Ecological Summit, noting that the platform is aimed at finding joint solutions to environmental challenges in Central Asia and neighboring regions. The two sides expressed interest in advancing cooperation in sustainable development, climate, and water resources. President Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening cooperation across all three dimensions of the OSCE, in line with the principles enshrined in the 2010 Astana Declaration. He emphasized the priority of human rights, democracy, and the rule of law in the national agenda. The OSCE Secretary General expressed gratitude for the invitation and highly praised Kazakhstan’s leadership in promoting climate issues in Central Asia and beyond. Sinirlioğlu also highlighted the country’s key role within the Organization.
